From Hotel Las Majadas, we travel along Route G-25, passing through San Alfonso, El Ingenio, and San Gabriel, until reaching the gravel road that leads to El Yeso Reservoir.
Skirting its waters, we arrive at Valle del Yeso Park, where the horses await to begin a five-hour mountain journey. After crossing the Yeso stream and riding through high-altitude meadows, we start the ascent along the historic trail of Paso Piuquenes, reaching 4,000 meters above sea level, surrounded by imposing mountains and absolute silence.
The route covers much of the Cajón del Maipo until reaching El Yeso Park, located at 3,000 meters above sea level. This horseback ride takes place during the season when the park is open, generally from October until the first snowfall, when vehicular access is completely closed.
