Set out on one of the most iconic treks in the Cajón del Maipo. From Las Majadas, we travel to Baños Morales, a mountain village that serves as the gateway to this Andean landscape. After a two-hour drive, we reach the start of the trail, a clearly marked path that climbs through valleys and natural viewpoints.
The trek covers 7 km of hiking and a 700 m ascent, reaching 3,200 meters above sea level, where the great reward appears: the imposing El Morado hanging glacier, an ice wall that dominates the landscape and rises above 4,600 meters. After approximately 6 hours of hiking and time to enjoy the view, we return along the same route.
This excursion takes place in Arenas Park and can be visited year-round, provided conditions allow. In winter, the experience can be complemented with snowshoes.
