Venture into the heart of the Andes with a trek through the Colina Valley to one of the most striking viewpoints in the Cajón del Maipo. The goal: the Nieves Negras Viewpoint, a natural balcony facing mountains rising over 3,500 meters above sea level, with views stretching toward the Argentine border.
From Hotel Las Majadas, we travel east for 80 kilometers to the Colina Hot Springs, where the hike begins. The trail follows gentle slopes, crossing Andean meadows and the Volcán River, until reaching a privileged spot that offers a full view of the San José Volcano and its impressive hanging glacier. The trek covers approximately 8 kilometers (around six hours, including a lunch break), with an elevation gain of 290 meters.
This excursion is available only during spring and summer, as access remains closed the rest of the year due to snow and road conditions.
