We head into the Cajón del Maipo along Route G27 until crossing the Maipo River. From there, we explore areas of San José de Maipo and continue toward Las Melosas, a striking formation created by ancient volcanic processes, before visiting the “El Velo de la Novia” waterfall. We then reach Baños Morales, where you can admire the unique Colimapu formation and the paleontological site of Lo Valdés.
We conclude this journey with a two-hour hike (round trip) to Valle la Engorda, from where spectacular views of the San José Volcano can be enjoyed. The return follows the same route.
This excursion can be done year-round, although access to Valle la Engorda may be restricted in winter due to snow.
